SGS in the Spotlight (2016)

PDF

Following the established tradition, we celebrate the 55th anniversary of SGS by publishing a new book. This book is a photographic report of the club's life during the last five years. Inside the book you will find hundreds of photographs, each of them showing different people, different perspectives, different times of year and different places around the world. All this reflects the life of Ural cavers from inside and outside.

The history of SGS proves that speleology has many aspects, not only sport or science, and every caver has their own favourite. We tried to put together all this diversity to create a kaleidoscope of events, people and caves.

IT IS TIME TO WALK THROUGH WALLS (2021)

PDF

This book is about Alexander Sergeyevich Vishnevsky and about exploring the cave named after him. "I forbid you to look for caves on the wall of Chulbair. They are not there, there is no need to waste time.» This is what Alexander Sergeyevich Vishnevsky, the head of the most productive expeditions to the Boy-Bulok cave, told young speleologists at the end of the twentieth century, who raised their heads too high. The cave reached record figures for that period, and then, as it always happens, lost ground. Young speleologists grew up and, contrary to Vishnevsky's instructions, went to look for caves on the wall of Chulbair, and even then called the most promising one after him. In the name of a despot, a tyrant, a friend and a teacher who left a huge mark on everyone's life.
